Just keep in mind this is whats stopping us from taking it seriously as a competitive game.

If you dont care about my nerd shit, you can feel free to skip these points, I don't blame anyone who doesnt want to get technical about fighting games and just wants to have a good time. Now after a huge paragraph about why I love the xrd community, I'm going to draw a couple comparisons between the two games to show why my friends and I prefer Xrd, many of these aren't things that make strive a worse game, just reasons that we like to focus on Xrd. While people might salt post now and then about how theyre sad about elements of strives design, we end up doing it WAY LESS than actual strive players who are grinding the game every day. There was a whole wrestlemania themed event with exhibition matches between friends or rivals, who made callout videos and even an anime opening for everyone.

In terms of locals I have never seen events with people so passionate about their game. If any of you want to play xrd let me know your region and I can try and set you up with the local scene! I could talk all day about why specific mechanics are perfect but that would probably be boring so I will just say its been super fulfilling to get back into it. We support our beginners and many of them have gotten strong enough to start taking rounds or games off strong established players as well. I wanna talk about all the positives our Xrd scene has, many regions in north america at this point have a beginners bracket and I have made many friends personally who have gotten into Xrd during pandemic(in my case I had played it on and off but got into it serious in May 2020) or even POST strive who have been practicing and enjoying the game. It's just not as seriously or competitively and I can get into why later. This is really not the case for xrd players however, many of us do play strive from time to time on the side. I see how you could have had shitty experiences with annoying nerds about this kinda stuff in the past and be turned off by people sticking to an older game. As someone who still actively plays rev 2 and enters rev 2 tournaments weekly for the love of the game with a 30-40 strong local/online regional scene I feel like I can maybe shed a little light here.įirst I wanna address people here saying we just love it to be exclusionary or different.
